Created and directed by: Kris Limbach (Germany)
Co-produced by: AADK Spain

Synopsis:

A dysfunctional tourist couple tries to buy a huge property in the
Spanish countryside and become a driving force towards a dystopian
world. But there are other obscure figures distracting them from
their enterprise. There is distrust, misunderstanding and hidden
forces behind people's behaviour. But there is also a primitive
state getting revealed, a pre - civilisational state of life
glimpses through the dark night. “The Lost Color” comes along as
a narrative film, and over and over again abandons the story in
favor of pure imagery association.
“The Lost Color” is after “Music for dysfunctional airports”
Kris Limbach´s second film shot in spain that deals with the
economical and spiritual european crisis.

The Lost Color is a investigative, experimental film,
exploring in the fields of the Spanish mysticism and
the voids left by the lost revolution. A moon like
landscape as a neutral / displaced setting for the
action becomes an experimentation field for desire,
love, politics and surreal rites.
Like fixing a rainbow that misses one specific color,
The Lost Color tries to revoke and resurrect the
spectra that got dimmed out of the collective
consciousness. The Lost Color is shot mostly with
available moonlight in the desert like wilderness
close to Blanca (Murcia) in the south of Spain.
Partly improvised and partly scripted the actors and crew
performs with the freedom of chance and coincidence.
An archaic, Val de Omaresque film.

PRESS:

Cipriano Torres critique:

“…This year the international Festival of Murcia has expanded to Blanca with an extention dedicated to experimental Cinema, to other forms and languages of narration, of drawing Images and add Sounds to them. I was staying a view days in Blanca, and I watched this Cinema made by young people, who -as I suspect – barely watch television.

It s not a medium that determine their lives. Watching “The Lost Color” of the german Kris Limbach I got caught by his beautiful photography, his syncopic editing, his captivating soundscapes. Kris created a world of its own which makes the real world unreal. He applies sounds that have nothing in common with the images, like they would have their own life. Regardless of that, the images as well start to grow their own life while revealing the action. …..”
